    Summary

    The Production Manager reports to the Director of Operations in Houston. This is an advanced skill level position that requires an individual to demonstrate proficiency in several technical and computer disciplines, demonstrate competence in a wide range of manufacturing methods, possess experience in safety(specifically OSHA 1910), Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma, and both federal and state labor laws. Excellent communication, time management, organizational skills, and the motivation to maintain accountability for production related tasks are essential elements for this role. This role requires availability via phone, Teams, and e-mail over a wide range of hours to a wide range of shop floor concerns.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the planning and organization of all shop resources with Supervisors.
    • Ensure production is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all specifications.
    • Exhibit a dependable and positive role model for direct reports.
    • Conduct Product Audits to ensure Quality and Design standards are met.
    • Support areas of growth for team members by motivating and rewarding success.
    • Lead the selection of new employees, and support subsequent onboarding steps.
    • Provide coaching and corrective action for employees not meeting expectations.
    • Provide shop floor resources and time for team members to participate in projects with support staff to continuously improve the department.
    • Assist the Manufacturing and Service Manager on manufacturing capabilities and efficient production methods, including opportunities for improvement on product design.
    • Complete safety reviews of workspaces, processes, and hazardous materials and lead support staff to implement the best safety practices.
    • Audit completion of preventative maintenance and evidence that work was completed correctly and on a regular basis.
    • Provide leadership and stability to direct reports during periods of change and implementation of new duties by planning training steps in advance and preparing the team.
    • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch in a tightly configured piece of equipment.
    • Occasionally lift and carry 75 pounds.
    • Travel of 10% or less.

     

    Qualifications/Skills:

    • Proficient in reading/writing/typing in English. Comprehend written, visual, and verbal instructions. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
    • Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, MRP/ERP systems)
    • 2+ years in a Supervisory or Management Role
    • 5+ years of Manufacturing/ Production Experience
    • Valid driver’s license.

     

    Education and Licensing

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
