Description
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Duration: Contract to Hire
Schedule: 6am start-4pm end (depending on volume). They will be present until their team leaves for the day.
Job Details:
Client is looking for a Production Supervisor with a solid understanding of manufacturing operations, people management, and continuous improvement. If you bring a hands-on approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead teams through change, we’d love to connect.
Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage a production division from raw materials to finished product, ensuring schedules are met
- Lead and develop a team of 20–30 hourly employees, focusing on performance, training, and development
- Participate in a leadership rotational program
- Collaborate with Operations Managers to control costs and meet corporate goals
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and labor regulations
- Drive quality improvements and customer satisfaction
- Provide coverage for Operations Managers and lead special projects as needed
- Maintain flexibility to move between manufacturing areas based on business needs
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of proven leadership and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of production processes, quality systems, and safety standards
Desired Skills and Experience
- Strong initiative and ability to work under pressure
- Bachelor's degree or military equivalent experience
- Familiarity with engineering methods and capacity analysis
- Lean manufacturing
- Ability to adapt quickly and lead through change
- Experience leading cross-functional projects
