About the Role


We are seeking an experienced, bilingual Production Manager to provide leadership and operational direction to our high-volume manufacturing teams. Operating in a fast-paced, make-to-order environment, you will drive strategy and execution across safety, cost management, schedule adherence, employee relations, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities


  • Operational Leadership: Lead daily operations across multi-shift teams to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) targets. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and focus on on-time, error-free shipments.

  • Shop Floor Engagement: Maintain a strong, active presence on the shop floor. Flex work schedules across a 24/7 multi-shift operation to engage directly with all team members and navigate production areas.

  • Schedule & Resource Optimization: Manage scheduling and resource allocation (staffing, equipment, tooling, technical services) to meet customer demand and optimize performance.

  • Continuous Improvement & TPM: Champion Total Process Management (TPM), Lean, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and manage costs.

  • Quality & Corrective Action: Lead root-cause problem solving and implement corrective actions for any non-conformance issues or operational deficiencies.

  • Safety & Compliance: Drive a safety-first culture in full compliance with company policies, EPA, OSHA, and CAL OSHA standards.

  • Team Development & Culture: Provide ongoing goal setting, training, feedback, and recognition. Build a collaborative, engaged, and diverse team environment.

Qualifications & Requirements


Required:


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Operations, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field.

  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive manufacturing management experience in a complex, high-demand environment.

  • Languages: Prefer Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and spoken).

  • Technical Expertise: Working knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS, Lean Manufacturing, JIT, SPC, TPM, inventory control, and engineering documentation.

  • Flexibility: Ability to navigate and support a multi-shift, 24/7 operational environment.

Preferred:


  • Background or experience in the rubber manufacturing industry.

  • Hands-on experience with MRP and ERP software systems (e.g., Syspro).

Skills & Competencies


  • Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish; natural ability to build alliances across departments.

  • Operational Focus: Driven by measurable outputs, cost control, process refinement, and continuous productivity gains.

  • Problem-Solving & Accountability: Strong sense of ownership with proven success using data-driven tools to manage complex priorities.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands


  • Environment: Dynamic warehouse and manufacturing shop floor environment with routine office collaboration. Exposure to shop temperatures (including heat), elevated noise levels, industrial dust, chemicals, and moving machinery.

  • Physical Requirements: Daily walking, standing, climbing above floor levels, navigating equipment, and occasionally lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs.

  • Safety: Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes.
