Production Manager

The Production Manager - Advanced Fabrication is responsible for leading the safe, efficient, high-quality, and on-time execution of production within our advanced electrical fabrication operation. This hands-on leadership role oversees production scheduling, workforce planning, quality, material readiness, workflow, and continuous improvement.

The Production Manager will partner closely with Project Management, Engineering, QA/QC, Procurement, and other operational teams to turn project requirements into executable production plans and ensure customer commitments are met.

As the operation continues to grow, this position will also play an important role in developing and scaling production processes, systems, teams, and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day production activities to achieve safety, quality, schedule, productivity, and cost goals.

• Develop and manage production schedules, priorities, labor requirements, capacity, and workflow across multiple projects.

• Monitor production progress, labor performance, material availability, and project milestones; proactively address constraints and schedule risks.

• Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and accountability to production teams while promoting a strong safety culture.

• Partner with Project Management and Engineering to resolve design, drawing, material, and production-related issues.

• Coordinate with QA/QC to maintain quality standards, inspection requirements, testing, and corrective actions.

• Support material readiness, staging, logistics, packaging, and shipment coordination.

• Track production performance and use operational data to identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, cost, and workflow.

• Lead continuous improvement efforts, including standard work, Lean practices, production processes, and facility/work-cell improvements.

• Help establish scalable production systems, processes, and workforce plans to support continued organizational growth.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing, electrical construction, electrical fabrication, modular construction, prefabrication, or a related production environment.

• 3+ years of experience leading production teams, supervisors, skilled trades, or manufacturing personnel.

• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, workforce planning, material flow, quality, and productivity.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, work packages, and bills of material.

• Demonstrated ability to manage labor, resources, priorities, and production constraints in a project-driven environment.

• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Experience working cross-functionally with Project Management, Engineering, QA/QC, Procurement, and operational teams.

• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP, production scheduling, inventory, or similar operational systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electrical fabrication, modular electrical systems, switchgear, power distribution, industrial electrical systems, or other engineered-to-order environments.

• Experience leading electricians, electrical foremen, fabrication teams, or skilled trades.

• Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, capacity planning, and quality processes.

• Experience helping build or scale a production facility, fabrication operation, or manufacturing organization.

• Associate, technical, trade, or apprenticeship education required; bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred.

Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite within an active fabrication/manufacturing facility and requires regular presence on the production floor. Occasional travel and schedule flexibility may be required based on project and production needs.
