General Profile
- Requires advanced skills typically gained through a combination of training and considerable on-the-job experience
- Typically acts as a lead, coordinating and checking the work of others but not as a supervisor
- Works autonomously within established procedures and practices and typically acts as a lead, coordinating the work of others
- Performs manual tasks according to established procedures
Essential Functions
- Operates, tests, and monitors assigned equipment according to established guidelines for an organization.
- Observes and conducts operation of equipment and documents maintenance needs.
- Troubleshoots control panels, error lights, and messages to ensure proper equipment function.
- May communicate with equipment technicians relating to highly complex issues.
- Verifies equipment data for reporting.
- Supports and assists with the installation of operating equipment.
- Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete more complex tasks.
- May assist with training other machine operators.
- May calculate and assist with numeric controlled programming.
Required Qualifications
- Required education and experience: High School Diploma/GED required and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Written communication skills. Ability to gather and document information. Ability to lift/move heavy objects. Mechanical knowledge. Safety knowledge.
Physical Requirements
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
- This position is Safety-Sensitive.
