    Overview

    Position Summary: Inspection of product to check size, appearance and function.

    Responsibilities

    KEY TASKS

    ANSI inspection of product to check size, appearance, and function of parts prior to finishing operations.

    Using established benchmarks, and working with Value Stream Managers and Quality Assurance personnel, determines suitability of parts for finishing operations.

    Work with Value Stream Managers, Production Supervisors, and Quality Assurance personnel in writing scrap or process change notices to correct non-conforming product.

    Perform product audits on product at various operations throughout the facility.

    Perform other duties as necessary.

    Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS

    High School diploma or 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience.

    1 to 3 years hands-on production experience, to include blueprint reading, use & interpretation of micrometers, calipers, angle gages, height gages, hardness tester, optical comparator, carbon determinator, torque tester, X-ray plating thickness tester, and data collection equipment.

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals and fractions. Work from drawings, specifications and formulas involving limited detail.

    PREFER

    Basic computing skills.

    ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

    Use moderate judgment to plan and perform work; make decisions as to the sequence of operations and processes within the limit of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
