    Description


     Safely operates excavators to perform earthmoving, excavation, grading, and material handling activities in support of Morgan Corp.'s heavy civil construction projects. Works collaboratively with project leadership and construction crews to complete work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and company standards. 

    Responsibilities


    Essential Functions/Duties and Responsibilities
    • Safely operate excavators to perform earthmoving, excavation, grading, and material handling activities. 
    • Excavate to required grades, depths, and alignments in accordance with project plans and specifications. 
    • Work collaboratively with Foremen, Survey personnel, and construction crews to support project schedules and production goals. 
    • Conduct pre-operational inspections, routine maintenance, and safety walk-arounds on assigned equipment. 
    • Maintain assigned equipment in good operating conditions and promptly report maintenance needs or equipment deficiencies. 
    • Complete required equipment inspections, production reports, and other project documentation. 
    • Operate equipment safely around personnel, utilities, and other construction equipment. 
    • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project-specific requirements. 
    • Maintain productivity while delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality excavation operations. 
    Additional Duties
    • Maintain assigned equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
    • Participate in required safety meetings and training. 
    • Assist with general construction activities as needed. 
    • Extended hours, overtime, weekends, and/or night shifts may be required. 
    • Perform other duties as assigned. 


    Qualifications


    Education & Experience
    • High school diploma or GED preferred. 
    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating excavators or other heavy construction equipment required. 
    • Experience operating Caterpillar, Komatsu, or similar heavy construction equipment preferred. 
    • Experience reading construction plans, grade stakes, and project specifications preferred. 
    • OSHA construction safety training preferred.
    Other Requirements
    • Valid driver's license required. 
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening. 
    • Position must follow Morgan Corp.'s Fit-for-Duty Physical Program. 
    • Ability to work extended hours, overtime, weekends, and/or night shifts as project schedules require. 
    • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and other environmental conditions common to heavy civil construction. 
    • Strong commitment to Morgan Corp.'s safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations. 
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills. 
    • Ability to solve problems and adapt to changing job site conditions with limited supervision.
