A leading chemical manufacturing company in the Baton Rouge, LA area is seeking two Production Engineers (one Mechanical, one Chemical) to support their high-tech powders production facility. These roles report to the Technical Manager and will drive continuous improvement, efficiency, and reliability across production lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily production and quality metrics to ensure optimal unit performance
  • Identify and resolve process issues to improve uptime, throughput, and yield
  • Lead and support safety training, audits, and behavioral safety initiatives
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and PSM standards
  • Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and waste to drive corrective actions
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering to eliminate bottlenecks
  • Train plant staff on technical processes and safety procedures

Preferred Experience

  • 3–5 years in production or process engineering in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, TPM), KPI tracking, and root cause analysis
  • Understanding of PSM, environmental, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in plant commissioning and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills

Qualifications

  • BS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, hands-on operations environments
