    Production Engineer

    Job Summary

    KBR is seeking a Production Engineer to support the Tactical Aviation Ground Munitions (TAGM) Portfolio Acquisition Executive Fires Office in Huntsville, Alabama. This position provides production engineering support across multiple weapon system platforms throughout the acquisition lifecycle, with a primary focus on supporting the Aviation Rockets Small Guided Munitions (ARSGM) Product Office. The role works closely with government leadership, chief engineers, prime contractors, and supplier organizations to evaluate manufacturing readiness, production performance, and industrial base effectiveness. Responsibilities include resolving production challenges, assessing manufacturing risks, supporting transition-to-production activities, and providing technical recommendations that impact program execution. Successful performance requires the ability to analyze complex manufacturing data, communicate technical findings to diverse stakeholders, and support cross-functional teams in achieving production and delivery objectives.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Provide production engineering support across all phases of the acquisition lifecycle for TAGM portfolio programs and ARSGM production activities.
    • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) with government, prime contractor, and supplier personnel to support manufacturing execution and production objectives.
    • Evaluate production line activities, manufacturing processes, production rate capabilities, and transition-to-production efforts while providing technical recommendations to leadership.
    • Investigate production issues and support resolution of quality, manufacturing, producibility, and industrial base challenges through data-driven analysis.
    • Review and assess Request for Deviations (RFDs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), First Article Tests (FATs), and First Article Inspections (FAIs) impacting production performance.
    • Perform production engineering analysis supporting Failure Review Boards (FRBs), including fault tree analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective action evaluations.
    • Execute Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs) and evaluate manufacturing risks, production capacity constraints, and readiness for increased production demands.
    • Monitor supplier performance, support Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) initiatives, and provide recommendations regarding obsolescence management and industrial base health.
    • Prepare technical assessments, information papers, briefing materials, and recommendations for TAGM leadership regarding manufacturing, cost, schedule, performance, and risk considerations.
    • Other duties as assigned in support of mission and business requirements.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
    • Minimum one (1) year of production engineering, manufacturing engineering, or production environment experience.
    • Experience supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) or engineering projects within a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience performing engineering analysis associated with production, manufacturing, quality, or sustainment activities.
    • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
    • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications in a professional engineering environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience supporting Department of War acquisition, production, or sustainment programs.
    • Experience serving as an Engineering Technical Lead or IPT Lead.
    • Experience supporting Failure Review Boards, root cause investigations, and corrective action implementation.
    • Experience conducting Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs) or production readiness evaluations.
    • Experience supporting supplier management, supply chain risk management, or industrial base assessments.
    • Experience supporting munitions, missile, aerospace, or defense manufacturing programs.
