Position Overview Philo Ridge Farm is seeking an experienced and collaborative Production Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. Rooted in a commitment to sustainability and farm-to-table excellence, our kitchen showcases fresh, seasonal ingredients-many of which are grown and raised right here on the farm. This role works closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to ensure the accurate, efficient, and timely execution of recipes while upholding our high standards for quality, consistency, and ingredient integrity. Responsibilities include receiving, cleaning, and properly storing locally sourced and in-house products, with careful attention to product rotation and minimizing waste. Philo Road, Charlotte, Vermont, 05445 Responsibilities Prepare, cook, and plate production items and menu components accurately, efficiently, and follow Culinary Management standards and recipes Follow portioning guidelines, production timelines, and food safety practices to ensure consistency and minimize waste Set up, clean, and maintain a safe, organized kitchen environment, including daily sanitation of workstations and equipment Receive, transport, stock, and properly store food and ingredients, ensuring accurate labeling, rotation, and temperature control Operate kitchen equipment safely and perform routine maintenance and cleaning as needed Communicate clearly with the culinary team through verbal check-ins, prep lists, and other collaborative tools to support smooth daily operations Support sustainability practices, including composting, recycling, and responsible waste management Assist with staff meals, special events, and other culinary initiatives as required Perform additional tasks as assigned to support overall kitchen operations and team success Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume, professional kitchen Solid foundation in cooking techniques and a demonstrated passion for high-quality, seasonal food Proficient with standard kitchen equipment; familiarity with basic maintenance and safety protocols preferred Strong time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment High attention to detail, consistency, and a strong work ethic Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to changing priorities Team-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Reliable, punctual, and prepared to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Physically capable of standing for extended periods and regularly lifting to 50 pounds Compensation & Hours Compensation ranges from $26 to $30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
