1st Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, hours may vary

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:00pm, hours may vary

3rd Shift: Sunday night - Friday morning - 10:00pm - 6:00am, hours may vary

Position Summary

Tramec Sloan in Galion, OH, is seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Assembly Supervisor to lead our assembly operations. We are currently hiring for first, second, and third shifts.

We are looking for a strong leader who can effectively manage employees, coordinate daily production activities, resolve conflicts, and drive improvements in productivity, quality, and efficiency.

This is a hands-on supervisory position that requires spending the majority of the workday on the production floor, actively directing, training, and working alongside employees to achieve department goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage production employees, including performance management, conflict resolution, coaching, and accountability.
• Review production schedules, establish daily priorities, and assign employees to machines and workstations to maximize productivity.
• Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), including production efficiency, labor utilization, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Conduct regular shop floor meetings to communicate production goals, safety concerns, quality expectations, and department performance.
• Provide hands-on training and support while maintaining an active presence on the production floor.
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and solutions to production challenges.
• Ensure employees follow established safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
• Address daily operational issues and make timely decisions to support efficient production operations.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience managing employees, resolving conflicts, and addressing performance issues.
• Ability to interpret production schedules, prioritize workloads, and effectively manage labor resources.
• Experience monitoring manufacturing KPIs and driving measurable improvements.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to confidently lead employee meetings and provide effective training.
• Hands-on leadership approach with a willingness to work directly with production employees.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing assembly operations.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or continuous improvement practices.
• Experience with ERP systems and production reporting.
