    Production Worker / Laser Tech (Operator) 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts available.
    San Marcos, CA
    $19.00–$20.00/hr DOE
    Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

    Our client, a precision machine shop in San Marcos, is seeking Production Worker / Laser Tech (Operator) candidates for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Shifts. The company specializes in CNC-controlled laser cutting for the electronics and medical device industries, producing high-precision components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    Available Shifts
    1st Shift
    • Monday–Friday 8am to 4:30pm
    • Overtime may be available
    • Shift flexibility is a plus
    • Prompt and reliable attendance is required

    2nd Shift
    • Monday–Friday 4pm to 12am
    • Overtime may be available
    • Shift flexibility is a plus
    • Prompt and reliable attendance is required

    3rd Shift
    • Monday at Midnight through Saturday at 8:30 AM
    • Overtime may be available
    • Shift flexibility is a plus
    • Prompt and reliable attendance is required
    Position Summary
    This is a production-focused role in a precision manufacturing environment—not an R&D laboratory. We are looking for dependable, detail-oriented individuals who can maintain quality while meeting production goals.

    You will work with small, delicate components made from:
    • Thin alumina ceramics
    • Stainless steel, titanium, and copper
    • Electronics components
    • Select plastics
    Responsibilities
    • Operate CNC laser machining equipment
    • Load parts and set machine offsets
    • Perform simple program edits
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
    • Measure parts using precision inspection tools
    • Perform visual inspections and deburr finished components
    • Monitor machine performance and report equipment issues
    • Perform basic preventative maintenance
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area
    • Communicate effectively with production, engineering, quality, and supervisors
    • Assist with equipment startup and shutdown after training
    Qualifications
    • Previous CNC machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
    • Experience with machine setup, offsets, changeovers, and basic program editing is highly desirable
    • Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including:
      • Calipers
      • Micrometers
      • Depth gauges
      • Indicators and scales
    • Ability to read blueprints and perform basic shop math
    • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
    • Excellent visual inspection skills for small, precision components
    • Good written and verbal English communication skills
    • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
    • Willingness to train on 1st Shift if needed
    CNC Experience Encouraged
    Candidates with experience operating CNC milling machines (HAAS, Fadal, Mitsubishi, or similar) are encouraged to apply. Transferable machining skills can be applied to 2-axis laser machining centers using Aerotech controllers.
