Do You Know You'd Be a Good Fit?

Are you someone who takes pride in turning an approved design into a correct, beautiful finished sign or graphic? Do you know your way around large-format printers, laminators, plotters and CNC equipment? Are you equally comfortable working with production files and working hands-on with vinyl, printed graphics and sign substrates?

Our Production Artist is an experienced member of our Production Group who understands both the art and science of sign production. You notice details, understand how materials and equipment behave, troubleshoot problems instead of working around them, and think ahead to how the finished product will be assembled or installed. You can work independently on increasingly complex projects while also helping less-experienced Production Specialists develop their skills. Most importantly, you take ownership of producing work that is accurate, on time and right the first time.

What We Need From You

As a Production Artist, you will take approved artwork, work orders, Bills of Material and production specifications and turn them into accurate, high-quality signs and graphics.

You will prepare and verify production-ready files; operate our large-format printer, laminator, plotter/cutter and CNC equipment; produce, weed, mask and finish vinyl and printed graphics; work with a variety of sign substrates; perform quality checks; and prepare completed production work for the next stage of fabrication, assembly or installation.

As an experienced Production Artist, you will also be expected to catch errors or missing information before materials are consumed, select appropriate production methods, minimize material waste and rework, troubleshoot equipment and production issues, help maintain equipment, organize and prioritize work to meet production schedules, and assist in developing Production Specialists.

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Experience in commercial sign, large-format graphics or similar production
  • Strong Adobe Illustrator skills and ability to prepare accurate production-ready files
  • Experience operating large-format printers, laminators and vinyl plotter/cutters
  • CNC/router experience or the ability and aptitude to become highly proficient with CNC production
  • Experience producing, weeding, masking, laminating and finishing vinyl and printed graphics
  • Knowledge of vinyls, laminates, adhesives, substrates and other sign-production materials
  • Understanding of color, print quality, resolution, scale, bleeds, cut paths and production tolerances
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, drawings, dimensions, specifications and Bills of Material
  • Strong measuring and math skills with excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to troubleshoot production files, equipment, materials and workflow problems
  • Ability to plan and organize work to meet production schedules and priorities
  • Understanding that material waste, labor time, errors and rework directly affect project profitability
  • Ability to safely operate and help maintain production equipment and support less-experienced Production Specialists
  • Strong communication, work ethic, accountability, positive attitude and desire to continue developing professionally

If you enjoy making things, take pride in craftsmanship, know that the details matter, and want a career path that can grow from skilled sign production into Production Manager and operations leadership, we want to meet you.
