Your Role
Akkodis is seeking a Product Testing Engineer for a Contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for improving product quality by reviewing requirements, identifying edge cases, validating business scenarios, and ensuring features are testable before development begins.
Rate Range: $44/hour to $46/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Product Testing Engineer Job Responsibilities include:
Review user stories, requirements, and feature specifications to identify edge cases, negative scenarios, requirement gaps, and potential risks early in the development lifecycle.
Partner with Product Owners, Engineering, and QA teams to create clear acceptance criteria, behavior-driven development (BDD) scenarios, and comprehensive test cases.
Support backlog refinement, Definition of Ready (DoR), and Definition of Done (DoD) activities to improve requirement quality and delivery readiness.
Validate business scenarios, test coverage, and environment readiness throughout the development, testing, and go-live phases.
Investigate, reproduce, and triage defects while providing detailed analysis and risk assessments to support informed decision-making.
Create and maintain reusable documentation of business logic, test scenarios, edge cases, and quality artifacts to improve team knowledge and product quality.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Business Analysis, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in Test Engineering, Quality Engineering, SDET, Product Quality, or a hybrid product/technical role supporting complex enterprise applications.
Proven experience identifying requirement gaps, edge cases, negative scenarios, and quality risks early in the software development lifecycle, with hands-on expertise in BDD creation, acceptance criteria development, and test case design.
Strong knowledge of Agile delivery practices, backlog refinement, Definition of Ready (DoR), Definition of Done (DoD), defect triage, and stakeholder collaboration, with experience in financial services, payments, or transaction processing environments preferred.

Pay Details: $44.00 to $46.00 per hour
