As a Product Technology Manager you'll focus on evaluating software platforms through an integrated commercial, operational, and financial lens. The team provides investment-grade insights that tie product architecture and roadmap credibility directly to valuation, growth, and margin sustainability. Lead Product Technology Diligence engagements for Private Equity and strategic clients, assessing software platforms across technical architecture, product strategy, operational scalability, and financial sustainability. This role requires the ability to tie commercial, operational, and financial performance of a software platform directly to its technology architecture and roadmap.

Your day-to-day may include:

  • Analyze application architecture and scalability
  • Review cloud infrastructure and cost structure
  • Assess product modularity and extensibility
  • Analyze technical debt and refactoring risk
  • Review SDLC processes and engineering metrics
  • Support analysis of hosting cost models and R&D cost allocation
  • Assist in assessing roadmap investment requirements
  • Link technical findings to growth scalability and margin implications
  • Support development of investment-grade red flag reports
  • Evaluate engineering productivity
  • Assess product governance
  • Identify operational inefficiencies impacting roadmap delivery

You have the following technical skills and qualifications:

  • 6-9 years in software engineering leadership, architecture consulting, product strategy advisory, or tech diligence
  • Experience in SaaS, marketplace, fintech, vertical software, or platform environments
  • Strong understanding of cloud cost structures and DevOps environments
  • Strong analytical capability
  • Commercial awareness
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Ability to operate in transaction-speed environments
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

The base salary range for this position is between $209,431 and $245, 854. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton's discretion, and it is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job -related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity. At Grant Thornton, compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
