Product Support Engineer (Entry-Level Mechanical/Systems Engineer) (Design Engineer 2 - 93743-1)
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Product Support Engineer (Entry-Level Mechanical/Systems Engineer). The work will be done onsite in Lafayette, IN. This is a long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $36.75/hour + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking an early-career engineer to support production and continuous improvement efforts for large marine engine platforms. This role focuses on identifying and resolving factory build issues, supporting system integration activities, and working closely with cross-functional teams to implement effective engineering solutions. The engineer will contribute to design reviews, product improvements, and cost reduction initiatives while gaining hands-on experience in both office and shop floor environments. This position offers strong exposure to real-world engineering problem-solving within a collaborative team setting.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support cross-functional efforts to identify and resolve product and build issues
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production-related challenges
Support engineering change activities and collaborate with design teams on system improvements
Participate in virtual and in-person design reviews and audits
Contribute to continuous improvement (CPI) and cost reduction initiatives
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or similar)
Approximately 02 years of experience (internships accepted)
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collect, organize, and analyze detailed technical information
Preferred Qualifications
Internship or experience in manufacturing, product support, or engineering environments
Exposure to engine systems, component design, or system integration
Experience with CPI (Continuous Process Improvement) or NPI (New Product Introduction) initiatives
Familiarity with cross-functional engineering collaboration
Basic understanding of diesel or gas engine systems
