The Product Specialist supports the development, execution, and lifecycle management of Tennant's product portfolio. This role works closely with the Senior Portfolio Manager and cross-functional stakeholders to analyze market opportunities, support new product development initiatives, monitor business performance, and execute product strategies that drive growth and profitability.

The Product Specialist is an early-career role designed to develop future product leaders by providing exposure to product strategy, market analysis, portfolio management, pricing, customer insights, and new product development. The successful candidate will be highly analytical, collaborative, and motivated to learn within a global industrial manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Lifecycle Management

• Support Product Managers in managing products throughout their lifecycle from concept through end-of-life.
• Assist with product portfolio reviews, lifecycle planning, and SKU rationalization activities.
• Coordinate product changes, enhancements, quality improvements, and discontinuation activities.
• Maintain product data, specifications, and portfolio documentation.
• Respond to product-related inquiries from sales and commercial teams.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

• Conduct market research and competitive benchmarking.
• Monitor industry trends, customer requirements, and emerging technologies.
• Gather and analyze customer feedback and Voice of Customer (VOC) insights.
• Assist in identifying growth opportunities, competitive threats, and portfolio gaps.

New Product Development

• Support cross-functional new product development projects.
• Assist in gathering customer and market requirements.
• Participate in product validation, launch planning, and commercialization activities.
• Support product launch activities, training initiatives, and sales enablement programs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.
• Participate in product reviews, project meetings, and strategic planning discussions.
• Support execution of product management processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build strong working relationships across global and regional teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• 3 years of professional experience in Product Management, Marketing, or related business functions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other business software tools.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or professional experience within manufacturing, industrial equipment, durable goods, or B2B industries.
• Experience with data analysis, business intelligence, or financial modeling.
• Exposure to product development, customer research, or market analysis.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP.
• Project management experience through coursework, internships, or previous roles.

Total Compensation = Pay range + Benefits

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity. The salary range reflects both entry into the role and future growth. Total Compensation = Base Salary + Benefits
