    Product Safety Engineering Manager

    Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager, Product Safety to join our Product Service division in New Brighton, MN. This leadership position will manage a team of product safety engineers while ensuring the safety and compliance of various products through rigorous testing and evaluation.

    Key Responsibilities

    Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 8-12 Product Safety Engineers Recruit, hire, and onboard top engineering talent Conduct regular 1:1s and provide career development guidance Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages continuous learning

    Technical Operations Oversee product safety evaluations using international standards (IEC 61010, 62368, 60601, 60950, 60529, 60335, 60825) Ensure timely delivery of Certificates, Test Reports, and Technical Reports to clients Develop test methodologies and quality assurance processes Stay current with evolving safety standards and regulations Manage complex certification projects with multiple stakeholders

    Required Qualifications

    Education & Experience University degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering or related field 8-10 years of product safety engineering experience in Test, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry 3-5 years of engineering management or team leadership experience Proven track record managing technical teams of 5+ engineers

    Technical Knowledge In-depth knowledge of IEC and UL standards, OSHAs NRTL Program, and IECEEs CB Scheme Experience with product safety testing equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, dielectric testers, environmental chambers) Understanding of risk assessment and safety management systems

    Leadership Skills Demonstrated ability to lead and develop technical professionals Strong project management skills with multiple concurrent projects Experience with performance management and talent development Excellent communication and presentation abilities

    Essential Skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities Strong technical writing and documentation skills Outstanding leadership and team management abilities Business acumen with budget and resource management experience Adaptability in fast-paced, dynamic environment
