Description: Our client is currently seeking a Product Owner – Workday Core HR & Recruiting (TA)

Location: Irvine, CA (Hybrid)
Salary Range: $140,000-$145,000 base (depending on experience)


Our client is seeking a Senior Product Owner to lead our Core HR and Recruiting (Talent Acquisition) platforms. This role owns the end-to-end employee lifecycle and hiring experience, driving automation, scalability, and data-driven decision-making across a global enterprise.

You will partner closely with HR, TA, Engineering, and Integration teams to deliver intuitive, efficient, and compliant solutions using Workday as the core platform.

Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Own the Core HR and Recruiting product portfolio
  • Define and manage the product roadmap across the full lifecycle:
    • Hire → Onboard → Manage → Exit
  • Align platform strategy with enterprise goals:
    • Scale, employee experience, compliance

Domain Expertise

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for:
    • Core HR (worker data, org structures, business processes)
    • Recruiting workflows (sourcing → offer → hire)
  • Simplify complex workflows and remove friction across HR and TA

Experience & Journey Design

  • Redesign “moments that matter,” including:
    • Hiring manager experience
    • Candidate experience
    • Employee lifecycle events
  • Drive a self-service and automation-first mindset

Solutioning & Delivery

  • Partner with:
    • Solution engineers
    • Integration teams
  • Lead design and prototyping of:
    • Recruiting workflows
    • Core HR processes
  • Ensure configurations are scalable, reusable, and support global growth

AI & Automation

  • Advance AI-enabled HR capabilities, including:
    • Recruiting screening and candidate matching
    • Intelligent workflows (onboarding, case management)
  • Partner with tools such as:
    • Workday AI
    • SANA
    • Approved integrations (as applicable)

Execution & Governance

  • Own backlog management and prioritization
  • Ensure alignment with:
    • Data governance standards
    • Security models
    • Integration and architecture standards

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in HR Technology
  • Strong expertise in Workday, including:
    • Core HCM
    • Recruiting
    • Business Process Framework
  • Proven experience in large-scale, global environments
  • Strong ability to connect data, process, and user experience
  • Demonstrated success driving platform adoption and optimization
