    Product Owner serves as the voice of the customer to guide development teams in building software capabilities with the highest business and customer impact. They are considered experts in their field as well as the applications they support and are often sought out by other teams to assist in product delivery. The Product Owner represents business needs and priorities, prioritizes and manages the product backlog, assigns points to stories based on their knowledge of the system, recommends developers for backlog items based on knowledge of the developer's experience, and incorporates feedback from business stakeholders to guide continuous product improvement. They are accountable for the delivery of business outcomes for one or more products of low to high complexity.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Authors Agile stories and performs backlog prioritization 60%
    • Meets with stakeholders to gain clarity on business needs 25%
    • Participates in Scrum ceremonies 10%
    • Collaborates to ensure product vision remains appropriate and applicable to DG's strategic direction 5%

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Servant-Leader for cross functional teams over a portfolio of products
    • Accepts high-level objectives and works with stakeholders to convert business needs into product requirements
    • Manages a variety of viewpoints to build stakeholder consensus
    • Develops Use Cases and authors agile stories while prioritizing the highest impact work for the team and stakeholders
    • Refine the backlog to enforce Sprint/story durations
    • Develops and communicates product vision, strategy and related roadmap for the product
    • Leads sprint review meetings and analyzes feedback to identify and understand product needs
    • Primary technical contact for the engineering team
    • Sets expectations with business stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities
    • Responsible for Release Planning and accountable for overall product delivery and speed to market
    • Understands how features are performing, the level of customer satisfaction, and provides suggestions for improvements
    • Ensures flow of work by maintaining at least two future Sprints in the backlog

    Qualifications

    Work Experience &/or Education:

    • 4+ years of relevant experience in IT, Retail technology
    • 4+ years of software delivery experience related to Point of Sale (POS) and Payments Technology
    • 3+ years in diverse roles and increasing responsibilities across business and IT CSPO roles desirable
    • 3+ years working in or with Agile software delivery teams using tools such as JIRA and Confluence
    • 3+ years experience working with Aurus and Flooid preferred
    • Applicable Product Owner certifications (e.g. Certified Scrum Product Owner, SAFe Product Owner Certification)
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline or equivalent experience
