JOB SUMMARY:

The Product Manager is responsible for the strategy, development, performance, and ongoing evolution of assigned products and programs across the organization's portfolio. This role manages products through the full lifecycle, from market assessment and business case development through implementation, launch, optimization, and retirement.

The Product Manager has primary responsibility for the Individual & Family product portfolio and associated growth initiatives. In addition, the role contributes to product strategy, growth opportunities, and portfolio initiatives that may span multiple products, customer segments, and lines of business. Through analysis of customer needs, market opportunities, business performance, and industry trends, this role develops product strategies and roadmaps that drive customer value, business growth, and organizational objectives.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Serve as the primary product owner for assigned products and strategic initiatives, with primary responsibility for the Individual & Family portfolio, including strategy, performance management, roadmap development, and lifecycle management.
  • Manage assigned products throughout the full product lifecycle, including development, launch, enhancement, optimization, and retirement.
  • Develop and maintain a rolling 3-5 year product roadmap aligned with organizational priorities, customer needs, market opportunities, and financial objectives.
  • Evaluate product performance and identify opportunities to improve growth, customer value, profitability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Define product requirements and priorities that support customer and business needs.
  • Develop business cases, financial analyses, forecasts, and recommendations to support product decisions and investments.
  • Present product strategies, performance updates, and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders.

Product Development & Growth

  • Lead development and execution of growth strategies for the Individual & Family portfolio.
  • Identify opportunities for product enhancements, new offerings, market expansion, and customer experience improvements.
  • Assess customer needs, market trends, emerging opportunities, and business challenges to inform product strategy.
  • Evaluate and support growth opportunities that may extend beyond the Individual & Family portfolio and contribute to broader organizational objectives.
  • Support the development and implementation of growth initiatives across products, customer segments, and distribution channels.
  • Translate research, market insights, customer feedback, and business performance data into actionable recommendations.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate, prioritize, and implement future product opportunities.

Market Analysis & Product Insights

  • Monitor industry trends, market developments, customer needs, and competitive activity to inform product strategy and decision-making.
  • Analyze product performance, customer feedback, utilization patterns, and market data to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Market Research, Sales, and Marketing teams to understand customer expectations, purchasing behaviors, and market dynamics.
  • Maintain awareness of industry best practices, emerging trends, and evolving customer needs that may influence future product direction.
  • Support the development of long-term product strategies through ongoing analysis of customer and market insights.

Regulatory Compliance & Product Governance

  • Ensure products comply with all applicable federal, state, and organizational requirements.
  • Prepare, submit, and manage regulatory filings and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to assess regulatory changes and implement necessary product modifications.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving regulatory requirements and potential impacts to the product portfolio.
  • Support audits, reviews, and governance activities related to assigned products.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned products and initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through product launches, enhancements, strategic initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and implementation strategies.
  • Build alignment among stakeholders and facilitate decision-making across functional areas.
  • Monitor progress, manage risks, and resolve obstacles to ensure successful execution.
  • Support Sales, Marketing, Operations, Underwriting, Finance, Provider Relations, Legal & Compliance, and other stakeholders with product-related inquiries, initiatives, and escalations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare, or equivalent field of study.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, product development, or related discipline.
  • Experience managing market-facing, revenue-generating products, services, or business offerings.
  • Experience within insurance, employee benefits, healthcare, dental, vision, ACA Marketplace, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze customer, market, operational, and financial data to inform product decisions.
  • Experience developing product strategies, business cases, requirements, roadmaps, and implementation plans.
  • Familiarity with product management, customer discovery, design thinking, or other product development methodologies.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence, build partnerships, and collaborate effectively across functions and organizational levels.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, learning agility, and commitment to continuous improvement.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to work remotely from a dedicated space and in a professional office setting.
  • Ability to commute to the corporate office on a regular basis.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and related technologies.
  • Ability to travel by air as required by company and business needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a matrixed environment.

The target hiring range for this role is $132,000 - $155,000 ( Annually). The starting base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and other job-related factors.
