Job Title: Product Manager II
Location: Seattle, WA 98101
Duration: 3 Months
Job Type: Temporary Assignment
Work Type: Hybrid

Job Description:

About the Team:

  • Store technology is one of Client's highest-priority investment areas, with strong, multi-year commitment across front and back of house.
  • POS+ is the centerpiece of that effort a modern platform replacing a legacy system that went largely uninvested for nearly two decades.
  • The team is lean, the scope is real, and the work has direct impact on how store associates serve customers every day.
  • This engagement has a genuine path to full-time.
  • As the team continues to grow, contractors who perform well are natural candidates for conversion.
  • We'd want to have that conversation openly with the right person.

Position Summary:

  • Client's POS+ team owns the Point of Sale platform powering Full Line Stores and Client Rack across thousands of registers nationwide.
  • We're looking for a contract PDM 2 to join the Core Enablement squad, owning a defined Q4 roadmap focused on closing parity gaps with the legacy POS system and then turning immediately to the work of discovering and prioritizing what comes next.
  • This is a high-ownership role from day one.
  • You'll work directly with Engineering, UX, and Store Operations partners, drive delivery on active features, and build a defensible point of view on the backlog that lies beyond the current roadmap.
  • The legacy POS gap is known to be larger than what's currently scoped.
  • A big part of this job is figuring out what matters most and making the case for it.

What You'll Work On:

  • Your Q4 feature roadmap is defined and ready for handoff.
  • You'll own delivery of the following epics in partnership with your squad.

Prosthesis + HIPAA Compliance:

  • Bring the Global Store Prosthesis transaction into POS+, ensuring HIPAA-billed service continues uninterrupted post-Global-Store retirement with no unnecessary PHI exposure.

Payment Orchestration Layer Store Transaction Workstream:

  • Migrate store transactions to the Freedom Pay stack (FCC/Freeway/NEPP) ahead of the January 2027 pilot, moving off WorldPay/Verifone.

Prevent Employees from Processing Returns on Their Own Purchases:

  • Introduce a real-time flag-and-hold control at the point of return, replacing after-the-fact Asset Protection review.

Register Idle Timeout:

  • Reduce register idle sign-out time to cut fraud risk and correct commission attribution without disrupting in-flight transactions.

Lookup Return by CC, Identified Customer Path:

  • Fix navigation between Return Lookup by CC and Customer Lookup via Client Card so associates consistently land on the correct flow, reducing return accommodations.

Future Roadmap Ownership:

  • Beyond the current roadmap, you'll own the discovery work.
  • Investigate the remaining legacy POS parity gap.
  • Partner with Engineering and Store Operations to size and sequence what's next.
  • Build a prioritized backlog for Q1 2027 and beyond.

Responsibilities:

  • Own epic-level delivery end to end from problem framing through launch in partnership with Engineering, UX, and Store Operations.
  • Maintain backlog health, sprint cadence, and delivery transparency for the Core Enablement squad.
  • Proactively investigate uninvestigated areas of the legacy POS parity gap and build a sequenced, defensible prioritization.
  • Communicate clearly with cross-functional partners and escalate blockers early.
  • Represent squad work in planning forums and leadership updates.
  • Navigate ambiguity with good judgment and a bias toward action.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of product management experience, owning features end to end in an Agile squad model.
  • Strong discovery skills comfortable investigating ambiguous problem spaces, talking to users and stakeholders, and building a prioritized backlog from incomplete information.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering and design partners.
  • Clear, confident communicator written and verbal especially in technical contexts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on a retail, POS, or internal platform product.
  • Familiarity with payments or transaction processing systems.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with a lean team and high ownership.

WE THE TEKWISSEN PEOPLE

TekWissen offers you a broader portfolio of services, industry-leading solutions, and the meaningful innovations that give you greater flexibility and speed to respond to market dynamics, reduced costs and risk to improve enterprise performance, and increased productivity to enable growth.

To keep pace with global market demands, TekWissen keeps its finger on the pulse of change. Our organized approach to guiding a project from its inception to closure. Managing projects is becoming more and more important as we enter the digital era. To cope with the pace that this transition demands, a method is required to manage projects so they can yield quality work, while incorporating efficient use of time and resources.

Project involves identifying which quality standards are relevant to the project and determining how to satisfy them.

It is important to perform quality planning during the Planning Process and should be done alongside the other project planning processes because changes in the quality will likely require changes in the other planning processes, or the desired product quality may require a detailed risk analysis of an identified problem. It is important to remember that quality should be planned, designed, then built in, not added on after the fact.

Capabilities and accomplishments in one TekWissen business enhance the opportunity for success in the others. Put simply, TekWissen's unique combination of attributes promotes success.
