My client's Pittsburgh office is seeking a highly motivated and industrious attorney to work in the firm’s Product Liability practice group.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Investigate and evaluate product liability claims
Conduct legal research regarding product liability law and federal regulations
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda
Manage all phases of litigation, including depositions, hearings, mediation, arbitration, and trial
Advise clients on risk management, compliance, recalls, and liability exposure
Prepare witnesses and clients for testimony
Maintain case files, billing records, and litigation deadlines
Participate in Business Development activities
The ideal candidate must have the following skills for consideration:
4–10 years of litigation experience preferred
Experience with product liability, mass torts, personal injury, or complex civil
Experience with active participation in depositions, oral arguments, and courtroom experiences
Excellent academic credentials as well as strong organization, writing, and analytical skills
Knowledge of county, state, and federal courts and related rules of civil procedures
Strong attention to detail in all work, along with the ability to manage multiple files and to prioritize workloads to effectively meet all deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of management, staff, and clients
Forward thinking, organized, and a team player
Ability to independently solve problems and exercise sound judgment with minimal direction
