Product M&A Integration Consultant (Contract)
Location: Remote (Occasional travel as needed)
Duration: 4–6 Month Contract
Pay Range:  $45/hour to $60/hour 
Overview
We are seeking a Product M&A Integration Consultant to lead the integration strategy following the acquisition of two product-based organizations. This individual will evaluate product organizations, technology platforms, business processes, and supporting systems to develop a scalable future-state operating model.

The ideal candidate has successfully integrated product and engineering organizations during mergers or acquisitions and possesses deep expertise in Information Security, Risk, and Compliance. They understand how to rationalize product portfolios, identify redundant technologies and processes, align engineering teams, and ensure regulatory and security requirements remain intact throughout integration.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the operational integration of two product-based organizations following an acquisition.
  • Evaluate product organizations, engineering teams, product management functions, and technology operations to recommend a future-state organizational structure.
  • Assess product portfolios to identify overlaps, redundancies, opportunities for consolidation, and strategic alignment.
  • Analyze enterprise applications, development tools, security platforms, infrastructure, and operational systems to identify redundant technologies and recommend consolidation strategies.
  • Map current-state and future-state business processes across Product, Engineering, Information Security, Risk, Compliance, and Technology organizations.
  • Develop integration roadmaps balancing business priorities, customer impact, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with executive leadership to define governance models, operating frameworks, and organizational design.
  • Ensure compliance, security, privacy, and regulatory obligations are maintained throughout integration.
  • Perform enterprise risk assessments related to technology integration, product operations, customer data, and security controls.
  • Facilitate workshops with Product, Engineering, Security, IT, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and executive stakeholders.
  • Identify integration risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies while providing executive-level reporting and recommendations.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience leading M&A integrations, enterprise transformations, or organizational integrations within product-based technology companies.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating Product and Engineering organizations following mergers or acquisitions.
  • Strong background working within software, SaaS, cybersecurity, or technology product organizations.
  • Deep understanding of Product Management, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and engineering operations.
  • Experience evaluating and rationalizing:
    • Product portfolios
    • Engineering organizations
    • Product development processes
    • Enterprise applications
    • Development toolchains
    • Technology platforms
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Information Security
    • Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)
    • Enterprise Risk Management
    • Security Governance
    • Operational Risk
  • Experience identifying technology redundancies and developing future-state integration strategies.
  • Experience working with executive leadership and presenting strategic recommendations.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating cybersecurity or highly regulated software organizations.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, HIPAA, or FedRAMP.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, Secure SDLC, cloud security, and software governance.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture, application rationalization, or technology modernization initiatives.
  • Certifications such as PMP, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, or SAFe are preferred.
