Description

Job Title: Product Engineer - Fluid Management ProductsJob Description

We are seeking a hands-on Product Engineer to support the maintenance, improvement, and testing of fluid management products throughout the product lifecycle. In this role, you lead product documentation, design control activities, engineering investigations, and test method development while ensuring products meet quality, performance, and regulatory requirements. You collaborate closely with Quality, Operations, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, support product changes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, product ownership, and working in a regulated manufacturing environment with opportunities for growth and internal promotion.

Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance, improvement, and testing of fluid management products across the full product lifecycle.
  • Lead and maintain product documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and full traceability of all technical records.
  • Own and execute design control activities in alignment with applicable standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Conduct engineering investigations to resolve technical issues and improve product performance and reliability.
  • Develop, execute, and refine engineering test plans, validation protocols, and test methods for new and existing products.
  • Perform verification and validation (DV&V) testing to confirm products meet design, quality, and performance requirements.
  • Lead and support design history file (DHF) remediation activities to ensure documentation is complete and compliant.
  • Conduct risk assessments and contribute to risk management activities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support and document product changes, ensuring proper evaluation, testing, and implementation in a controlled manner.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and failure investigations, using structured problem-solving tools to identify and address underlying issues.
  • Contribute to corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) within regulated quality systems and track effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • Interpret and work with engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and controlled technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Operations, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and support production.
  • Drive and participate in continuous improvement projects focused on product performance, manufacturability, and quality.
  • Prepare clear technical reports and documentation to communicate test results, engineering findings, and recommendations.
  • Support new product development and sustaining engineering activities for mechanical and plastic fluid management components.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in product engineering, sustaining engineering, manufacturing engineering, testing, or a closely related role.
  • Hands-on experience developing and executing engineering test plans, validation protocols, and technical reports.
  • Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and controlled technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of design controls and risk management within regulated product environments.
  • Experience with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), root cause analysis, and failure investigations.
  • Familiarity with regulated quality systems, including ISO-based or similar standards, and associated documentation practices.
  • Experience supporting product changes and continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing or product engineering setting.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills applied to technical and quality-related challenges.
  • Effective cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with Quality, Operations, Manufacturing, and other technical teams.
  • Background in mechanical design and product engineering for fluid management or similar mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a regulated manufacturing environment and take ownership of product responsibilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with new product development and sustaining engineering for mechanical and plastic components.
  • Exposure to medical device or similarly regulated industries and familiarity with FDA-related quality expectations.
  • Experience with design verification and validation (DV&V) activities, including test method development.
  • Ability to contribute to continuous improvement culture, including process optimization and product enhancement.
  • Strong documentation skills, ensuring complete product traceability and compliance with quality system requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a growing company environment that values internal promotions and product ownership.

Work Environment

This role is based onsite in a manufacturing environment, working closely with production and technical teams. You join a technical group of approximately 10 professionals within a broader workforce, collaborating daily with engineering, quality, operations, and manufacturing personnel. The setting is a regulated facility focused on fluid management products, where adherence to documented processes, design controls, and quality standards such as ISO-based systems is part of everyday work. You can expect a hands-on environment with direct interaction with equipment, components, and test setups, and a culture that emphasizes continuous improvement, product ownership, and opportunities for professional growth.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Scottsdale, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
