Salary: $160,000 - $300,000 Base + Meaningful Equity

Company Description

We’re partnering with a fast-growing Series B AI startup building software that automates complex accounting and financial workflows using machine learning and large language models. Their platform serves as an AI operating layer across accounting systems, improving efficiency in areas like bookkeeping, audit preparation, tax operations, and document processing. Backed by top-tier investors, the company is rapidly scaling its engineering organization while building AI-native products transforming financial operations at scale.

What You Will Do

  • Design, build, and ship full-stack product features powering AI-driven accounting automation workflows
  • Collaborate closely with domain experts and cross-functional stakeholders to translate operational pain points into scalable technical solutions
  • Leverage AI tooling and LLM-powered systems to accelerate engineering velocity and product capabilities
  • Build production-grade systems that improve workflow automation, reliability, and operational efficiency
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks across application performance, workflows, and system architecture
  • Own projects end-to-end from technical design through production deployment and iteration
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape the evolution of the company’s AI-native platform
  • Communicate technical tradeoffs and product decisions clearly across engineering and business teams
  • Operate with strong product judgment, balancing speed, quality, and user impact in a fast-moving environment

Ideal Background

  • 5–10 years of software engineering experience with strong technical fundamentals
  • Proven track record of shipping production-grade applications in fast-paced environments
  • Full-stack engineering experience with the ability to contribute across frontend, backend, and systems design
  • Strong product intuition and ability to reason about customer problems, workflows, and user experience
  • Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows in day-to-day development
  • Strong systems thinking and architecture skills across complex interconnected systems
  • High execution velocity with a bias toward ownership and action
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous startup environments with rapidly evolving priorities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams

Preferred

  • Experience at Series A, B, or C startups or similarly high-growth environments
  • Experience building or integrating AI- or LLM-powered product experiences
  • Background in fintech, accounting technology, workflow automation, or operational tooling
  • Strong understanding of modern AI product development workflows
  • Experience contributing to 01 product development and scaling engineering systems
