The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Responsibilities:

We’re looking for a Product Engineer who enjoys turning engineering designs into real-world manufacturing success. You’ll be the link between Engineering, Production, Planning, Quality, and Supply Chain, making sure products are set up correctly, launched smoothly, and continuously improved over time.

The Role

This is a hands-on manufacturing engineering role focused on product introduction, ERP data management, process development, and continuous improvement. You'll help ensure products are manufacturable, production-ready, and supported by accurate BOMs, routings, labor standards, and planning data.

You’ll spend time working with engineers, supervisors, operators, and business teams to improve performance, solve problems, and support new product launches from concept to production.

What You'll Do

  • Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, and manufacturing data within the ERP system
  • Lead new product introductions from engineering release through production launch
  • Review drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to build accurate manufacturing processes
  • Develop manufacturing methods, process flows, and production sequences
  • Establish labor standards, setup times, and production run rates
  • Partner with production teams to improve manufacturability, productivity, and quality
  • Coordinate engineering changes and ensure master data remains accurate
  • Support capacity planning, scheduling, and production readiness activities
  • Provide manufacturing input for quotations, costing, and feasibility assessments
  • Analyze manufacturing performance and identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve yield, and increase throughput
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects
  • Act as a key point of contact for manufacturing readiness across multiple functions
Qualifications:

About You / What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
  • Experience developing BOMs, routings, and manufacturing documentation
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, labor standards, production planning, and capacity planning
  • Experience working with ERP systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working across departments and communicating with stakeholders at all levels
  • A practical, continuous improvement mindset that looks beyond simply maintaining the status quo
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed to support customer visits alongside Sales

Nice to Have

  • Experience in metals, casting, machining, aerospace, medical, or other regulated manufacturing environments
  • Experience using D365 or a similar ERP platform
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 standards
  • Experience with manufacturing costing and financial analysis
