Product Engineer

Our client is seeking a Product Engineer to support the development and production launch of manufactured products. This role owns complex mechanical engineering work from design development through production approval, partnering closely with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, industrial design, and marketing. The ideal candidate brings strong Creo expertise and practical experience taking components and products into production.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and improve mechanical product designs using sound engineering principles and analysis.
• Create and refine 3D designs and engineering documentation in PTC Creo.
• Apply knowledge of materials, manufacturing methods, tooling, and mechanical design to ensure products are practical and production-ready.
• Collaborate with mechanical designers, engineers, manufacturing teams, suppliers, industrial design, and marketing throughout the product development process.
• Support design decisions by evaluating manufacturability, material selection, performance, and production considerations.
• Lead or contribute to DFMEA and PFMEA activities to identify and address product and process risks.
• Manage engineering approval activities for production components, including ISIR and PPAP processes.
• Work through design and manufacturing issues with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Support successful product launches and the transition of new designs into production.
• Maintain product design information and engineering documentation within applicable product lifecycle management systems.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with PTC Creo is required.
• Demonstrated mechanical product design experience involving materials, manufacturing processes, and tooling.
• Experience with production part approval processes, including ISIR/PPAP, and working knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA.
• Proven experience supporting successful product launches into manufacturing.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent practical engineering and product development experience will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PTC Windchill or a comparable product lifecycle management system.
