Product Engineer – Vehicle Electrical Integration

Pay: $36.75-$42.00/hr
Overview
We are seeking a Product Engineer – Vehicle Electrical Integration to support the integration, validation, troubleshooting, and launch of vehicle electrical and electronic systems. This role is responsible for ensuring ECUs, wiring harnesses, network communications, sensors, controllers, and vehicle subsystems work together seamlessly throughout prototype, pre-production, and launch activities.
This is a hands-on engineering position requiring direct experience with automotive vehicle electrical systems, diagnostics, prototype builds, and launch support.
Responsibilities
- Integrate and validate vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
- Develop and troubleshoot electrical schematics and logical diagrams.
- Support ECU flashing, configuration, diagnostics, and functional validation.
- Perform vehicle-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Conduct compatibility reviews for ECUs, wiring harnesses, and vehicle networks.
- Support prototype vehicle builds, launch activities, and production readiness efforts.
- Analyze and resolve vehicle integration issues involving hardware, software, and network communications.
- Collaborate with engineering, validation, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years of automotive OEM, Tier 1 supplier, vehicle systems, electrical integration, validation, or resident engineering experience.
- Experience with:
- Vehicle electrical systems integration
- ECU testing and validation
- CAN communications
- Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Root cause analysis
- Prototype builds and launch support
- System FMEA and DVP activities
Preferred Experience
- CANalyzer / CANoe
- Vector Tools
- Ford DET, IVS, or VSEM

Work Environment
- Hybrid schedule with a minimum of 4 days onsite per week.
- During prototype builds and launch events, onsite support may increase to 5-6 days per week, including occasional weekends.
- Approximately 70% hands-on vehicle integration and troubleshooting, 30% design and documentation.
