Technical Skills
Must Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or Science Field
  • 0-5 years relevant experience in a technical discipline, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience with polymer characterization / testing instruments and equipment
  • Training in laboratory safety and procedures.
  • Experience operating one or more specific instruments / equipment (including Instron mechanical tester; TGA; DSC; FTIR; Rheometers, Profilometers; is desired.
Nice To Have
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis techniques and data modeling principles.
Job Description

  • The Laboratory Technician I Contractor in the Materials & Characterization R&D group will be responsible for conducting testing /experiments; writing technical reports; supporting test request work flow and operation of equipment in the materials characterization labs.
  • They will ensure compliance with CLIENT quality policies, procedures and practices through appropriate communication, training and education of sound quality assurance principles; ensure compliance with all local, state, federal and CLIENT safety regulations, policies and procedures.
Project Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Lab Manager, the incumbent performs bench-level engineering tests and/or research experiments designed to test the feasibility of concepts or technologies required for development or revision of new products.
  • Lab Organization: Follow and support the workflow process for the materials R&D labs including instrument operation and maintenance. Follows GLP.
  • Process Effectiveness: Ensure appropriate processes are followed for effective and timely stakeholder engagement and completion of assignments.
  • Continuous Learning: Actively seek training to improve skills. Ensure technical lessons are reviewed, learned and disseminated.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Note: This role is on-site only.

  • Communication: Hold and encourage frequent formal and informal communication within the team.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or Science Field
  • 0-5 years relevant experience in a technical discipline, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience with polymer characterization / testing instruments and equipment
  • Training in laboratory safety and procedures.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience operating one or more specific instruments / equipment (including Instron mechanical tester; TGA; DSC; FTIR; Rheometers, Profilometers; is desired.
  • Good technical skills and judgment.
  • Basic understanding of disciplined product development processes, regulatory and quality requirements.
  • Strong fit with CLIENT values.
  • Experience with basic statistical analysis and software (e.g. Minitab) preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office / Word / Excel / PowerPoint

Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is between $23.00-$26.00 per hour.
