Your Role

Akkodis is seeking a Product Development Engineer (Transmission) for a Contract with a client in Livonia, MI. The ideal candidate will lead transmission warranty deep dives and support quality improvements by working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams.

Rate Range: $40/Hour to $42/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Product Development Engineer (Transmission) Responsibilities include:

• Analyze transmission warranty data and investigate field issues to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.

• Collaborate with design, release, manufacturing, calibration, and service teams to improve transmission system performance and quality.

• Take ownership of 10-speed and hybrid transmission systems, ensuring continuous improvements in cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.

• Lead root cause investigations and support issue resolution with assembly plants, suppliers, and dealer service organizations.

• Support vehicle testing, data collection, and validation activities to evaluate transmission performance and reliability.

• Drive manufacturing and process improvement initiatives while coordinating with global teams and supporting occasional travel requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.

• Experience with transmission systems, powertrain, hybrid, or electrified vehicle technologies.

• Strong root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and warranty investigation skills.

• Knowledge of calibration and vehicle data collection tools (Caltools, ATI, etc.) with the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and service teams.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour
