Product Design Engineer II Data Center Deployment

Location: Atlanta, GA (100% Onsite)

We are hiring a **Product Design Engineer II** to support Google's **Data Center New Product Introduction (NPI) Team**. This team acts as the bridge between Product Engineering and Data Center Design, ensuring new IT infrastructure is efficiently deployed within data center environments.

What You'll Do
* Create and modify **2D AutoCAD** layouts for data center deployments.
* Plan and optimize rack, cabinet, and equipment placement within existing data center space.
* Support IT system deployment by ensuring efficient utilization of floor space and infrastructure.
* Collaborate with Product Engineering and Data Center Design teams to implement deployment plans.
* Update project documentation, layouts, and planning information using Google Sheets, Excel, and Google Slides.
* Recommend layout improvements to maximize space utilization while meeting deployment requirements.

Required Qualifications
* 2 4+ years of experience using **AutoCAD (2D)**.
* Hands-on experience working in a **data center environment**.
* Experience with physical IT infrastructure deployment, rack layouts, equipment placement, or data center floor planning.
* Strong understanding of space planning and infrastructure layout optimization.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience supporting Data Center Infrastructure or Facilities projects.
* Technical Program Management (TPM) experience in data center deployments.
* Experience with capacity planning or infrastructure planning.
* Proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Excel.
