Product Design Engineer

The Product Design Engineer is a mid-level Engineering position and will learn and apply drafting and production processes while working under the supervision of a Sr. Develop engineering skills based on engineering procedure 230.50 Engineering Training.

Product Design Engineer 

Hampton, GA | On-Site

Full Time | $75 - 104K, depending on experience 

Summary:

• The Product Design Engineer is a mid-level Engineering position and will learn and apply drafting and production processes while working under the supervision of a Sr. Engineer. 
• The work will include standard computations, analysis, and 3D CAD design work.
• The position will take projects from conception through production helping throughout the cycle.

Job Duties:

• Work on projects assigned or directed by more experienced Engineers.
• Design, draft and model using AutoCAD and Solidworks for existing and new products.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, Specifications and Bill of Materials.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and field installation.
• Develop engineering skills based on engineering procedure 230.50 Engineering Training.
• Create samples of working models for demonstration.
• Improve usability of new and existing products.
• Revises processes, documents and drawings through Value Improvement (VIP) Systems. 
• Begin to perform tests in the engineering lab under supervision, learn ANSI Standards and how they relate to testing.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 4 plus years of design experience
• 3D Design Software expertise, preferably Solidworks
• Open to working on shop floor with production team to help with adjustments
• Ability to travel to testing facilities up to two weeks out of the year
