    Location: Syracuse, NY (Onsite)
    Duration: Long term Contract

    Embedded System, compliance engineer, validation to deployment.

    Role Overview

    We are looking for an experienced Product Certification & Test Engineer to support product certification, compliance, validation and test-lab activities for electrical and electronic products.
    The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in UL/product safety compliance, certification testing, test planning, pre-compliance, reliability testing and production/test engineering. Experience with UL 60730-1 or similar product safety standards is highly desirable.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead/support product certification and compliance activities for electrical and electronic products.
    • Perform compliance gap analysis and identify applicable safety and certification requirements.
    • Support UL/CSA product safety certification activities and coordinate with external certification/testing laboratories.
    • Develop certification strategies, test plans, procedures and test cases.
    • Support pre-compliance and formal certification testing.
    • Support End-of-Line (EOL) electrical testing and production test strategy.
    • Execute/coordinate electrical, functional, environmental and reliability testing.
    • Troubleshoot test failures and perform root-cause analysis.
    • Support PCBA and system-level verification and validation.
    • Support prototype bring-up, design verification and production transition.
    • Work with test labs, manufacturing and engineering teams during certification and production release.
    • Support test fixture/jig development and production test setups.
    • Review technical documentation, test reports and certification requirements.
    • Collaborate with Hardware, Embedded, Mechanical, Manufacturing and Quality Engineering teams.

    Required Skills & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related discipline.
    • 8+ years of experience in product certification, compliance, verification/validation or test engineering.
    • Strong hands-on experience with UL/product safety certification and compliance.
    • Experience with UL gap analysis, pre-compliance and formal certification activities.
    • Strong understanding of electrical/electronic product testing and troubleshooting.
    • Experience developing test plans, procedures and technical reports.
    • Experience working with certification/test laboratories.
    • Strong analytical and root-cause troubleshooting skills.
    • Experience supporting products through prototype → validation → certification → production lifecycle.

    Preferred Skills
    • UL 60730-1 experience.
    • Knowledge of NEC requirements/codes relevant to electrical products.
    • Experience with test-lab engineering.
    • Experience with EOL electrical testing.
    • Industrial/electrical/embedded/controls product experience.
    • Manufacturing/test fixture development experience.
    • Familiarity with FCC/IC/CE or other regulatory requirements.
    • Reliability and environmental testing experience.
    • Experience supporting US-based manufacturing/engineering teams.
