Brief Summary
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing supplier relationships, purchasing materials, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support manufacturing operations. This role will also analyze supply issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions to improve purchasing and supply chain performance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage purchasing activities with approved suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery, proper quantity, quality, and competitive pricing.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate purchase orders for raw materials, MRO items, components, packaging, services, and finished goods.
- Enter and maintain purchase orders, pricing, supplier information, certifications, and other purchasing data within the company"s systems.
- Communicate with internal teams regarding delivery changes, supply issues, alternative suppliers, and recovery plans.
- Perform root cause analysis on supply and inventory issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Support new product/prototype sourcing, supplier evaluations, cost-savings initiatives, and supplier site visits as needed.
Requirements:
1-3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reasoning skills with the ability to identify and resolve supply issues.
- Experience working directly with suppliers and communicating effectively with internal teams at all levels.
- Working knowledge of MRP systems, inventory management, and purchasing processes; manufacturing experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
