    DESCRIPTION:

    Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll manage and enhance strategic sourcing initiatives as a Procurement/Sourcing Specialist III - CAPEX. Working with cross-functional teams, you'll develop sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to deliver value through cost savings, risk mitigation, and supply chain optimization. You'll support our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer by ensuring reliable, cost-effective procurement of critical materials and services.

    WHAT WILL I DO?

    • Connect key categories to relevant Thermo Fisher site project teams to understand spending plans, identify savings opportunities, and run sourcing / RFx process to ensure full value of spend is being received, captured, tracked, and reported.
    • Review spending patterns and opportunities to consolidate, leverage and negotiated preferential contracts.
    • Develop strategy for specific Level 2 category (sub-category) as assigned which considers past, present, and current and future purchase levels, market positions, technology trends, and cost drivers.
    • Demonstrate a measurable reduction in year-over-year total cost of ownership for the goods and services being sourced without compromising quality and service levels
    • Consider financial planning, forecasting, P&L performance, inventory, cash flow, tariffs and inflation to inform strategy

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of procurement/sourcing experience in mid to large multinational companies, with strong category management expertise.
    • Minimum of 2 years of CAPEX (architectural design; construction; capital equipment) procurement/sourcing experience in a large matrixed company environment.
    • Strong procurement project planning and execution skills in collaboration with engineers and site project teams.
    • Strong bias for actions and strong partnering and collaboration skills both internal and external to Thermo Fisher.
    • Preferred Fields of Study: Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field
    • Professional certifications (CPSM, CSCP, CPM) are desirable
    • Proven success executing strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and contract management
    • Experience working in regulated industries like life sciences, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals preferred
    • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities
    • Proficiency with ERP systems, spend analytics, and procurement tools
    • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
    • Ability to build consensus and collaborate across global matrix organizations
    • Demonstrated success in achieving cost savings and process improvements
    • Strong project management capabilities
    • Ability to travel 25-50% as required
    • Fluency in English required; additional languages beneficial
    • Comprehensive understanding of procurement best practices, processes and methodologies
    • Experience with continuous improvement/lean methodologies
    • Demonstrated negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Additionally demonstrated working knowledge of use of MS Power BI and AI tools to conduct data analysis and report creation highly desired.
