Procurement Prototyping Specialist

The Procurement Prototyping Specialist will be responsible for supporting the prototyping team by quickly getting external quotes from and maintaining relationships with our various manufacturing suppliers. This individual will work closely with the fabrication, CNC, and additive prototyping teams for vendor set up, quoting, negotiation, and coordinating purchase requests.

JOB TITLE: Procurement Prototyping Specialist
LOCATION: Foster City, CA (Onsite)
PAY RANGE: $48 - $58/hr.
DURATION: 1 Year

TOP 3 SKILLS:

• 2+ years of experience in similar role and Experience working with and purchasing from vendors
• Can read and understand engineering drawings
• Ability to use many different computer business applications (Google sheets, Docs, Slides, etc)

Job Description:
The Procurement Prototyping Specialist will be responsible for supporting the prototyping team by quickly getting external quotes from and maintaining relationships with our various manufacturing suppliers. This individual will work closely with the fabrication, CNC, and additive prototyping teams for vendor set up, quoting, negotiation, and coordinating purchase requests. Additionally perform vendor and system audits to ensure supplier security and compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Engage vendors to receive quotes on parts to be manufactured
• Discuss drawing requirements and tolerances with the vendors
• Brings design for manufacturing options back to the requesting engineers to optimize pricing and delivery
• Participates in daily stand up meetings to give updates
• Keep all teams informed of delivery schedules
• Tracks suppliers adherence to the agreed upon delivery schedule
• Troubleshoots any payment delays
• Coordinates with cross functional teams to order and receive parts

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in a similar role
• Can read and understand engineering drawings
• Highly organized
• Great communication skills and a team player
• Experience working with and purchasing from vendors
• Initiative to improve processes
• Ability to use many different computer business applications (Google Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc)

Bonus Qualifications:

• JIRA
• Confluence
• Smartsheet
• SAP, Ariba or other purchasing applications
• PMP or other project management coursework
• Hands-on manufacturing experience (Sheet Metal forming, welding, machining, additive manufacturing, carbon manufacturing)
• Understanding of GD&T
