Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced procurement and supply chain professional to support purchasing, materials planning, inventory, transportation, receiving, and supplier coordination for a growing product-based organization.

The position will serve as a key link among suppliers, warehouses, transportation providers, operations, and finance. The selected professional will be responsible for maintaining material availability, improving purchasing discipline, controlling logistics costs, and ensuring accurate documentation and traceability through SAP.

This is a hands-on operational role requiring strong ownership of the complete procurement cycle, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a demanding and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and follow up on purchase orders in SAP.

• Monitor inventory levels, shortages, replenishment requirements, and supplier lead times.

• Coordinate suppliers, warehouses, transportation providers, operations, and finance.

• Maintain traceability from purchasing requirements through delivery, receipt, and invoice validation.

• Review goods receipts, invoice discrepancies, and GR/IR activity.

• Negotiate pricing, lead times, freight terms, and service levels with suppliers and carriers.

• Analyze purchasing, freight, and logistics costs and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Manage relationships with suppliers, carriers, warehouses, and 3PL providers.

• Track supplier performance, delivery issues, quality incidents, and recurring operational problems.

• Support forecasting, inventory planning, and the development of more predictable purchasing processes.

• Communicate clearly with management regarding shortages, delays, supplier risks, and cost deviations.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Approximately three to six years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, supply chain, inventory, or materials coordination.

• Hands-on experience using SAP MM. Formal certification is not required.

• Experience managing purchase orders, suppliers, inventory, warehouses, transportation providers, and deliveries.

• Knowledge of goods receipts, invoice verification, GR/IR reconciliation, replenishment, and material availability.

• Experience in manufacturing, industrial distribution, building products, construction materials, wholesale distribution, or another product-based environment is strongly preferred.

• Strong organization, follow-through, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.

• Collaborative, adaptable, service-oriented, and comfortable working with direct and results-focused leadership.

• Ability to work 100% on-site in Savannah.

• Authorization to work in the Client States without current or future sponsorship.
