Procurement Manager:This is where you come in.

We're looking for a Procurement Manager to lead and optimize MMFS's procurement operations across all locations, ensuring purchasing activities are executed efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with business needs. In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end procurement process, providing visibility into purchasing activity, supplier performance, order status, delivery timelines, and issue resolution while ensuring compliance with company standards, supplier agreements, and project requirements.

You will lead the day-to-day operational procurement function, managing purchasing activities that support projects, service operations, and corporate functions throughout the organization. From order placement and expediting to supplier management and process improvement, you'll serve as a key leader responsible for ensuring materials and equipment are delivered as required and that internal stakeholders receive exceptional procurement support.

As a people leader, you'll develop and mentor a high-performing procurement team, establish clear processes and accountability, and foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture. You'll also partner closely with project, operations, service, finance, and executive leadership teams to align procurement strategies with organizational goals and operational priorities.

Beyond managing daily operations, you'll play a critical role in advancing MMFS's procurement capabilities by leveraging data, reporting, technology, and process improvements to increase efficiency, visibility, scalability, and overall service levels. This is an opportunity for a hands-on procurement leader who can successfully balance operational execution with long-term continuous improvement initiatives.

This position requires monthly travel to other MMFS office locations to support procurement operations, team development, stakeholder engagement, and process visibility.

What You'll Do

This role ensures purchase orders are processed accurately and efficiently, materials and equipment are delivered as required, supplier issues are resolved, and internal stakeholders have visibility into procurement activities and order status.

The Procurement Manager leads and develops the procurement team, establishes effective processes and workflows, manages supplier relationships, and partners with internal stakeholders to support operational and project needs. This role is responsible for identifying opportunities to improve procurement efficiency, visibility, and service through process improvements, reporting, technology, and data-driven decision-making.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on procurement leader who can balance daily operational demands with longer-term process improvement initiatives. Success in this role requires strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, supplier management, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

Procurement Operations

  • Lead day-to-day procurement operations supporting MMFS projects, service operations, and corporate functions across all locations.
  • Oversee the end-to-end purchasing process, ensuring purchase orders are accurately processed, communicated to suppliers, and followed through to delivery and closeout.
  • Establish and maintain processes for order tracking, expediting, delivery visibility, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with MMFS supplier agreements, enterprise standards, purchasing policies, and job specifications.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex procurement and supplier issues.
  • Monitor procurement workload and service levels to ensure internal stakeholders receive timely and effective support.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, manage, and develop the procurement team, including workload planning, performance management, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and professional development.
  • Establish clear expectations and accountability while fostering a collaborative and service-focused team environment.
  • Evaluate team structure, workload, and resource needs to ensure procurement support aligns with organizational demand.
  • Promote cross-training and knowledge sharing to improve team flexibility, continuity, and operational effectiveness.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with project, service, operations, finance, and other internal stakeholders to understand purchasing requirements and resolve procurement issues.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and address delivery, quality, warranty, pricing, and service concerns.
  • Support supplier negotiations and ensure purchasing decisions consider cost, availability, quality, lead time, and overall value.
  • Communicate procurement priorities, risks, trends, and opportunities to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key point of escalation for supplier and stakeholder concerns requiring management involvement.

Process Improvement, Reporting & Technology

  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, efficiency, service levels, and stakeholder experience.
  • Develop and maintain procurement reporting and dashboards that provide visibility into purchasing activity, open orders, expediting, supplier performance, and other key metrics.
  • Use data and reporting to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with internal teams to implement technology, automation, and process improvements that reduce manual work and improve procurement visibility and accuracy.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure procurement team effectiveness and operational performance.
  • Continuously evaluate procurement workflows and recommend practical improvements that increase efficiency and scalability.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team through coaching, performance management, cross-training, and professional development initiatives.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure procurement effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.

The Procurement Manager reports to Jeff Phillips, Senior Director of Procurement, and plays a key role on a collaborative team driving strategic initiatives that support our growing business. This highly visible position partners with stakeholders across all levels of the organization and serves as a key escalation point for procurement, supplier, and operational issues.

  • 5+ years of progressive procurement or purchasing experience, including responsibility for operational procurement activities.

  • Strong understanding of purchasing, supplier relationship management, procurement operations, order fulfillment, expediting, and inventory or material flow processes.
