Job Title:  Procurement Category Manager 5
Location: Remote 
Salary Range:  $65/hr to $70/hr on W2

Introduction

The primary responsibility of a Category Manager is to secure Long Lead Equipment (LLE) capacity through the development of strategic plans and the leadership of long-term contracting initiatives for equipment and services essential to data center operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, negotiation skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals, and other technical data.
  • Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management.
  • Understanding of master agreement and long-term agreements.
  • Experience with allocation models.
  • Contract Negotiations 5-10 years.
  • Experience with suppliers of long lead equipment 5-10 years.
  • Previous experience with computer applications, such as Client Word and Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or a related business field required.
  • 10 years finance-related experience required.
  • Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry.

Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage supplier contracts, ensuring alignment with price, quality, design compliance, service, support, and availability requirements.
  • Conduct RFPs for new global design initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate supplier proposals.
  • Develop and execute LLE strategy in close partnership with Planning and Engineering.
  • Drive regional alignment and secure approvals for the LLE strategy.
  • Lead supplier escalations related to delivery and quality issues.
  • Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine the need for changes.
  • Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
  • Scouting for new suppliers and ensuring capacity is secured under budget.
