Summary

Express Employment Professionals Downtown Baton Rouge is currently seeking a Processing Supervisor for a Local Client in Baker, Louisiana. The Processing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of approximately 5 - 8 Machine Operators and Warehouse personnel engaged in the receipt, storage, processing, and packaging of products and materials in their facility.

The ideal candidate would be someone who has 3-5 years of supervising experience, experience working in a warehouse doing shipping and receiving, inventory control, cycle counts, handling personnel, and is comfortable filling in and doing all duties of the warehouse and shop when needed. Key

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Operations Manager to support the successful completion of daily operations, department objectives, and company goals.
  • Provide direct supervision of processing personnel, including performance management, employee development, and training.
  • Review production schedules and determine staffing, labor, and resource requirements needed to complete assigned work.
  • Review and interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders, and communicate job requirements and responsibilities to processing staff.
  • Establish, modify, and implement work processes to maintain production schedules while maximizing the capabilities of available machinery and equipment.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve production processes, equipment performance, product quality, and overall department efficiency.
  • Track and maintain accurate inventory accountability through processing reports, cycle counts, and other inventory control measures.
  • Review labor time reports to identify opportunities to improve productivity, maximize labor utilization, and reduce downtime.
  • Oversee order processing to maximize material utilization, improve yield, and reduce scrap.
  • Identify and implement ideas for ongoing improvements to manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain accountability for all tooling, materials, and supplies used within the processing department.
  • Lead, coach, and develop processing employees in quality systems, production standards, and continuous improvement practices to achieve and exceed established performance metrics.
  • Assist with processing department duties as needed to maintain workflow and ensure customer orders are completed and shipped on schedule.
  • Consistently follow all safety requirements, quality standards, handbook policies, and established procedures.

Required

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • Experience using ACAD or a comparable drafting, drawing, or nesting software program
