    Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking an inquisitive individual to drive key initiatives as part of our team. As a Process Transformation Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting complex process discovery, analysis and design efforts that translate business objectives into implementation-ready operating models. Working directly with operational and clinical stakeholders, this role applies structured problem solving and quantitative and qualitative analysis to understand how work is performed, identify root causes of meaningful variation, and develop practical future-state solutions. The ideal candidate is analytically strong, intellectually curious and comfortable independently owning workstreams in complex and unfamiliar business areas.

The role offers significant exposure to enterprise leaders and the opportunity to work on highly visible initiatives spanning strategy, operations and global growth. In addition to core Process Transformation responsibilities, the Consultant may support other priority cross-functional initiatives based on evolving needs of the Global Strategy team.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Own defined workstreams supporting global initiatives, leading work from current-state discovery and analysis through future-state process design and implementation planning
    • Apply hypothesis-driven problem solving and conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to understand workload, performance, cost, process complexity, root causes and sources of variation
    • Facilitate working sessions with stakeholders to pressure-test findings, identify pain points and evaluate opportunities for simplification, standardization, automation and broader transformation
    • Translate analysis and stakeholder input into clear current- and future-state operating models, defining roles, workflows, decision points, handoffs, requirements and key changes required for implementation
    • Analyze process variations, exceptions and conflicting stakeholder input; independently resolve routine questions and frame material issues requiring leadership review
    • Develop financial and analytical models and conduct global opportunity assessments, evaluating market conditions, costs and talent availability to develop fact-based recommendations
    • Maintain a high standard for analytical accuracy and work-product quality, ensuring deliverables are complete, consistent and usable by downstream teams
    • Support priority cross-functional initiatives outside of core Process Transformation work based on evolving Global Strategy priorities
    • Coordinate inputs across internal teams and external partners, proactively managing risks, dependencies and decisions required to keep assigned workstreams on track

    Competencies:

    • Strong hypothesis-driven problem-solving skills with the ability to structure ambiguous questions, identify required analyses and develop fact-based recommendations
    • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical capabilities, including the ability to analyze operational, financial and workforce data
    • Demonstrated ability to understand complex operational or clinical workflows and translate findings into clear assessments, process designs and implementation requirements
    • Effective facilitation and interviewing skills with the ability to ask thoughtful follow-up questions and establish credibility with stakeholders
    • Ability to independently own defined workstreams, manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work with limited day-to-day direction
    • Ability to translate strategic recommendations into executable plans while managing risks, dependencies and timelines
    • Ability to work through incomplete or conflicting information and distinguish issues that can be resolved independently from those requiring escalation
    • Strong written communication and presentation-development skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, executive-ready materials
    • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to analytical accuracy and work-product quality
    • Intellectual curiosity and learning agility with the ability to rapidly develop expertise across unfamiliar operational and clinical domains
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 3+ years of experience in management consulting, business transformation, process transformation, corporate strategy, operations transformation or a related discipline
    • Demonstrated experience conducting quantitative analysis and developing executive-ready presentations
    • Experience supporting complex transformation initiatives involving process analysis, operating model design or implementation planning

    About Company

At its founding in 1968, Nashville-based HCA was one of the nation's first hospital companies. Today, we are the nation's leading provider of healthcare services, a company comprised of locally managed facilities that includes about 165 hospitals and 115 freestanding surgery centers in 20 states and England and employing approximately 204,000 people. Approximately four to five percent of all inpatient care delivered in the country today is provided by HCA facilities. Richard M. Bracken serves as Chairman of HCA and R. Milton Johnson is the company's President and Chief Executive Officer.

HCA is committed to the care and improvement of human life and strives to deliver high quality, cost effective healthcare in the communities we serve. Building on the foundation provided by our Mission & Values, HCA puts patients first and works to constantly improve the care we give them by implementing measures that support our caregivers, help ensure patient safety and provide the highest possible quality. Investing in our communities is important to us. HCA typically invests about $1.5 billion annually to keep our facilities modern and up-to-date technologically and to expand and add services where needed. Focusing primarily on communities where the company is a leading healthcare provider, HCA selectively adds new facilities in order to better serve our communities.

And because two HCA founders were physicians, we value highly the strong relationships we've created with local physicians. We endeavor to provide them with a wide array of services and modern facilities in order to help them deliver the best possible care.
