Process Technician

Process TechnicianBasic Scope/Purpose: (The job’s primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization.)Set-up and operate injection molding machines. Process and control of materials. Learn and teach good shop techniques and refine managerial skills.Principal Accountabilities: (The job’s essential or most important functions and responsibilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)• Work with Engineering to write new part condition sheets, help plan new processes. • Perform and oversee quality control checks to include the use of computers, precision measuring equipment as well as visual inspection of parts.• Clean, Changeover / set-up molding tools, make adjustments to injection molding machines and other related equipment. • Operate Machinery.• Check and maintain critical molding parameters.• Perform the soaking operation of molded products.• Use hydraulic and air pressure equipment.• Read part drawings.• Labeling and packaging product.• Material handing duties (grinding, house cleaning, rework, labeling etc.)• Teach the trade to both training and lower level technicians.• Help plan molding schedules (plan alternate routings when needed).• Oversee and maintain accurate records (inspection results, inventory movement & transfer, etc.)• Accurately receive and transfer product using the computer system.• Assist in maintaining molding department equipment.• Initiate process improvements and facilitate department improvement meetings.• Contribute to our quality system through continuous improvement and with involvement in other waste eliminating activities.• Related duties as assigned.• Maintain and promote Fenner Precision Polymers’ values and behaviors at all times.Environmental, Health & Safety Accountabilities: (The level of safety accountability needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job.• Learn and follow EHS policies, rules and work instructions• Attend required EHS training• Wear the required PPE at all times• Take personal responsibility for keeping yourself and your co-workers and visitors free from injury by participating in and/or conducting risk assessments, work place inspections, corrective actions and safety observations• Report incidents, near miss, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and other hazards in the work place.
