As a Process Technician Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in driving excellence at Tesla s Gigafactory in Austin. You will lead a dynamic team of process technicians, manage rework operations, and drive quality and efficiency metrics in critical areas of the manufacturing floor. This is an amazing opportunity to work cross-functionally with our manufacturing and operations teams, interfacing with Engineering, Quality, Production, MRB, and Material Flow to ensure production goals are being met in a cost-effective manner. Your success in this role will be measured by key performance metrics such as scrap reduction, rework cycle time, yield, and safety.
- Build and lead a highly motivated team of technicians capable of delivering rapid, effective problem-solving and high-quality rework against aggressive metrics
- Empower the process tech team to collaborate with engineering to improve product manufacturability and line productivity
- Monitor defect trends and hold responsible engineering, quality, and production teams accountable for delivering effective solutions
- Develop and implement world-class training programs and hiring plans for process tech team members
- Develop and maintain standardized manufacturing Work Instructions used in repair and rework by the process tech team members
- Drive issue resolution with an unwavering commitment to root cause investigation and corrective action tracking
- Ensure that quality standards are being met throughout the entire rework process and hold the team accountable for achieving zero defects
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline is preferred, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing teams of people in a high-volume manufacturing setting
- Proven track record of selecting and developing top-performing team members
- Demonstrates strict adherence to EHS standards and leads by example
- Strong organization and record-keeping skills with meticulous attention to detail to maintain team accountability
- Ability to work with and develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs). Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to interface with executives and leaders on a daily basis. Fluent with common MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
