PROCESS SUPERVISOR
Summary
Oversees ethanol production to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety. Leads a team of board operators and process technicians, manages daily operations, monitors equipment, troubleshoots issues, and ensures regulatory compliance. A hands-on role working on the floor 50–90% of the shift. Duties may change as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise shift operations, ensuring adherence to production plans and safety protocols.
Train and mentor team members in safety, process control, and troubleshooting.
Monitor process parameters and equipment, adjusting to maintain efficiency and quality.
Inspect equipment, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate maintenance to minimize downtime.
Enforce all safety, health, and environmental policies, taking corrective action as needed.
Analyze production data and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with maintenance, QA, and engineering on equipment repairs.
Manage inventory of raw materials, chemicals, and supplies.
Prepare reports on production, efficiency, safety, and compliance.
Help develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary training in Chemical Engineering, Process Technology, or a related field preferred.
3+ years in ethanol production or a similar chemical/biofuel role preferred.
Strong knowledge of ethanol processes, equipment, and troubleshooting.
Proficient with process control systems and Microsoft Office.
Familiar with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
