    Who We Are

    The University of Michigan Medical School Office of Research's primary mission is to foster an

    and supports biomedical science from insight to impact. To that end, our team continually

    strives to strengthen the research enterprise by maintaining an investigator-focused

    infrastructure, expanding and diversifying investigators' funding opportunities, and streamlining

    research processes.

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a temporary process manager to develop or implement processes of varying

    complexity in several areas, including support for the Research Climate Council, Central

    Biorepository, Grant Services and Analysis, and the Medical School Administration. The project

    manager will work with Medical School Office of Research leadership and must be comfortable

    in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Back-office academic research administration

    experience is required.

    Responsibilities*

    45% - Prepare surveys, compile data, analyze results, and evaluate utilization rates for

    selected resources

    45% - Develop workflows, process maps, and guidance documents (e.g., Central

    Biorepository publications, GS&A attribution of authorship)

    10% - Provide scientific consultation services in administrative offices

    Required Qualifications*

    • Doctoral degree in a life science or other relevant discipline
    • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, and capable of working under

    minimal supervision

    • Academic business and research administration experience
    • Experience in developing workflows and project dashboards
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to handle multiple project streams concurrently
    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
