    Description

    Position Overview

    The Process Improvement Engineer Intern supports operational excellence initiatives by analyzing processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and assisting with the implementation of solutions that enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity. This role provides hands-on experience applying engineering and continuous improvement principles in a collaborative manufacturing or business environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in evaluating and mapping current processes to identify waste, bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to support process optimization, cost reduction, and productivity initiatives.
    • Participate in continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other process improvement methodologies.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to implement and sustain process enhancements.
    • Develop and maintain project documentation, process maps, standard work instructions, and performance metrics while supporting root cause analysis and corrective action activities.

    Qualifications

    Pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field; strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering software tools preferred.
