Responsibilities:
-Responsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process
- Also responsible for new process development including process design, operation, and implementation
Follow all applicable environmental, health and safety rules and procedures and immediately report all dangerous situations, near-misses, and injuries
- Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of the production process
- Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers
- Oversee that process documentation, including work instructions and acceptance criteria, is created and up to date
- Lead problem solving activities, conduct root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans
- Implement lean manufacturing techniques - SMED, single piece flow, 5S
- Ensure projects are completed on time
- Work with in-house product design teams to optimize the design for manufacturability
- Work with equipment designers, in-house engineering, and manufacturing staff to develop a cost-effective and working production process
Qualifications:
- Proven work experience in process engineering and/or manufacturing engineering
- Experience in manufacturing is required
- Working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, for viewing a computer terminal distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception vision for driving and ability to adjust focus
