Job Title: Process Engineer Structural Foam
Full-time | On-site | Manufacturing | Rockwall, TX
Were hiring a Process Engineer to support and optimize structural foam manufacturing operations in a hands-on capacity. This isnt a sit-behind-the-desk type of engineering role were looking for someone who knows the floor, understands plastics processing, and can also lead, train, and support process technicians directly.
This role will play a key part in improving production processes, troubleshooting issues, and driving continuous improvement while acting as a resource and leader for the foam molding team.
Providing day-to-day technical support for structural foam processes and equipment
Leading and mentoring process technicians to improve overall production performance
Developing and refining SOPs and best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency
Evaluating production capacity and helping with planning for infrastructure needs
Collaborating with maintenance, engineering, and production teams on troubleshooting and optimization
Monitoring production data, analyzing process performance, and identifying areas for improvement
Supporting the implementation of safety procedures, quality standards, and process control systems
Assisting in training programs for both new hires and experienced techs on process and equipment
Strong background in plastics manufacturing, specifically structural foam and blow molding
Experience in process engineering within a production environment
Hands-on knowledge of setup, troubleshooting, and optimization of molding equipment
Ability to lead and train team members while staying involved in the daily production floor activities
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Comfortable working cross-functionally and balancing both strategic and tactical work
Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and basic data analysis tools
10+ years in manufacturing, with 5+ years of direct experience in process or quality engineering roles
On-site in a manufacturing facility with both office and floor time
Active role requiring walking, standing, and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs)
Exposure to seasonal temperatures and production noise
PPE required in designated areas
