OneSource Professional Search is partnering with a privately held petroleum refining company to hire a Process Engineer for its refinery operation in Mississippi. The company has a long history in the energy industry and operates refining, transportation, terminal, and storage assets serving major markets throughout the southeastern United States. This role offers a Chemical Engineer the opportunity to work closely with refinery Operations, providing hands-on technical support across process troubleshooting, optimization, reliability, process safety, and improvement projects.

Responsibilities
Monitor day-to-day refinery operations and process performance.
Identify and troubleshoot process limitations, operational issues, and emerging performance problems.
Analyze operating data and trends to proactively identify opportunities or potential issues.
Support unit and system startups, shutdowns, and preparations for equipment maintenance.
Improve process performance through unit optimization, energy conservation, and operating cost reduction.
Identify and develop process changes that improve safety, reliability, profitability, and overall unit performance.
Develop process designs and support implementation of unit and system modifications.
Prepare and review Management of Change (MOC) documentation.
Participate in HAZOPs and help resolve resulting recommendations.
Support commissioning and troubleshooting of process and system changes.
Assist Operations with development and improvement of operating procedures.
Provide technical support to Operations, Mechanical, Environmental, Health & Safety, and other refinery teams.
Provide technical training and serve as a process resource for assigned units and systems.
Support environmental compliance by understanding applicable requirements for assigned processes.
Utilize engineering design and process rating software as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited four-year university.
3–6 years of process engineering experience in refining, chemical, petrochemical, or a related process industry.
Strong process troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to interpret operating data and identify opportunities for process optimization and improvement.
Understanding of process safety principles, including MOC and HAZOP.
Ability to work effectively with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and EH&S personnel.
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of engineering design and/or process simulation and rating software.
Valid driver’s license.
